Eat Out editor Abigail Donnelly and Eat Out San Pellegrino Chef of the Year Chantel Dartnall, will be hosting the exclusive launch of Restaurant Mosaic’s 2015 spring menu, entitled Origins, on the day of the southern spring equinox, Wednesday 23 September 2015. All proceeds from the ticket sales will go towards the hunger-eradication programme, Stop Hunger Now Southern Africa.
This is the second in a series of Eat Out and Stop Hunger Now SA events, following the announcement of their partnership at the 2014 Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards in November last year. The special dinner at Restaurant Mosaic at The Orient Boutique Hotel in Elandsfontein, west of Pretoria, will feature six courses by chef Chantel Dartnall, each of them paired with a fine wine from the restaurant’s private cellar by sommelier Germain Lehodey.
Stop Hunger Now SA was established in 2009 with the mission to end hunger in Southern Africa. The organisation focuses on transformation through education, and ensures that learners are fed while holding learners, parents and educators accountable to achieving defined outcomes.
Its partnership with Eat Out launched in November 2014 with an innovative consumer-engagement mechanism on the Eat Out website. Every time a reader posts an online review on www.eatout.co.za, a meal is pledged to Stop Hunger Now SA. A barometer on the Eat Out home page indicates the number of meals pledged for the current month.
Eat Out editor, Abigail Donnelly says, “This special dinner is another great opportunity for fine-food lovers to get involved in the Stop Hunger Now SA initiative. We’re so pleased that we can include our fans in this meaningful way.”
Chef Chantel Dartnall of Restaurant Mosaic is delighted to be involved in this event. “Restaurant Mosaic participates in several initiatives each year, aimed towards benefitting the underprivileged and upliftment projects in our local community. By hosting a Stop Hunger Now SA dinner with Eat Out, we can play an active role in making sure hungry children have food to eat.”
Saira Khan, CEO of Stop Hunger Now SA, says, “We remain very excited about this partnership and applaud Restaurant Mosaic’s involvement. In addition to all the meals being pledged daily on the Eat Out website, this unique interactive dining event delivers tangible benefits for Stop Hunger Now SA.”
The Eat Out dinner in aid of Stop Hunger Now SA will be held on Wednesday 23 September 2015 at 7pm for 7.30pm at Restaurant Mosaic at The Orient in Pretoria at a cost of R1500 per person, with all proceeds going to Stop Hunger Now SA. There are limited places available. For more information and to reserve your seat, visit the Eat Out website or email Julie.Potgieter@newmediapub.co.za
